Candadian trolley Buses: Then and Now

Canada at one time had sixteen cities that operated trolley buses. This program will look at the trolley fleet of these sixteen cities and discuss present day trolley bus operations in Vancouver. At the end of World War II cities in Canada were faced with operating a streetcar fleet that was worn out and in need of replacement. Most Canadian cities opted to scrap their streetcar system and replace them with trolley buses. This presentation will journey across Canada from the Nova Scotia to British Columbia looking at these trolley bus fleets.

CERA 4th Friday In Person South Shore Ride In (Friday, September 25, 2026)

Announcing our September 25th CERA Fan Ride in for our 85th Anniversary!

We will be traveling from Chicago's Millennium Station (or any station along the way) to Michigan City's 11th Street station, having lunch and then traveling along the newly opened Monon Corridor to the Munster/Dyer station with a return to Chicago Millenium Station.

The trip departs on the 10:30 AM #109 from Chicago's Millennium Station and arriving in Michigan city qt 11:56 AM where we will have about two hours for lunch and sightseeing before we depart at 2:22 PM for a ride along the newly opened Monon Corridor to Munster/Dyer , transiting through the Hammond Gateway.

We will leave Munster/Dyer at 4:42 PM for a direct ride back to Millenium Station arriving at 5:52 PM
