CA&E emerged from its 1930s-40s receivership facing the survival challenges presented by construction of the new Congress Superhighway.  Any hope of the interurban's meeting those challenges was dimmed by the Kansas Farmers investment group, intent on stripping the assets of the company.  Ulterior Motive: CA&E, the Highway, and the Kansas Farmers describes the interaction of the various institutions during CA&E's last decade. 

We will also have a short newscast preceding the regular program.
