Earl Clark's 1933 Interurban Journey from
Newport KY to Sheboygan WI
Presented by Tom Morrow
Friday, August 8, 2025 at 7:00 P.M. CDT
The late Earl Clark was a traction fan almost beyond compare. In Cincinnati transit history he (and Bill Myers) will go down as the only two to ride the last car in 1951, and the first car in 2016. Many may remember the directory of electric transit systems book/pamphlet he produced in the 1960s.
Prior to his passing, Earl accumulated a tremendous collection of materials, and was a master storyteller to boot, giving many presentations at the Hoosier Traction Meet along with hundreds of presentations to groups around the country.
One of Earl's "masterpieces" was to tell a story, thru pictures, of how one could ride a combination of streetcars and interurbans from his home in Newport all the way to Sheboygan WI in 1933. Upon Earl's passing, the Cincinnati Transit Historical Association (CTHA), was blessed with receiving a few of Earl's presentations, one of which is this one. We've scanned it and augmented it a bit, and hope you can join us.
