MIDWEST TRACTION REVIEW-PART 2

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TRANSIT REVIEW

The first part of the September program will be a Midwest Traction Review, Part 2 which will consist of thumbnails of 16 streetcar and interurban companies in the Midwest.  Harvey Laner will present a brief history of each property while visually supporting the narration with appropriate video from his extensive video collection.  The video that will be shown at the program will be a compilation from various fan collections that Harvey Laner has acquired over the years and consists of the work of those individuals as well as some commercial films mixed in those collections that are no longer available to the public.   The first part of the program will last approximately 58 minutes.

Following Part 1 we will break for a 15 minute intermission.

Part 2 of the program will be a video covering LA Metro Rail (LRT) new line construction and existing line extension projects, a review of LA Metrolink coach and locomotive developments as well as the new Perris Valley extension.  Amtrak regional and long distance trains and the San Diego County Coaster, Sprinter, and MTS San Diego Trolley activity are included in this all-encompassing 2016 Southern California Transit Review.
