The Conference Center is located on the second floor. After entering the lobby, go through the glass doors on your left for stair and elevator access to the area. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
Early in the 20th Century streetcars were the primary mode of transportation in U S cities. As the century progressed the streetcars were replaced by buses and automobiles. By the 1960's it appeared that streetcars would disappear entirely. Urban revitalization reversed that trend. New streetcar systems providing central city circulation are opening every few months. Who would have imagined? This presentation traces the urban development processes that resulted in the return of streetcars to the streets of American cities.
